With over 20 years of experience in bilingual education, Rosa Palafox-Torres has dedicated her career to transforming classrooms into vibrant, inclusive spaces where emergent bilingual students thrive.
As a former estudiante bilingüe emergente herself, Rosa understands the challenges and joys of navigating two languages and cultures. Her journey—from bilingual elementary teacher to curriculum coordinator and certified reading specialist—has fueled her passion for creating culturally relevant and sustaining biliteracy curricula that meet the cognitive, linguistic, and affective needs of every student.
Rosa holds a Master’s in Advanced Literacy and has served in diverse roles, including bilingual facilitator and national dual language consultant. Her work centers on empowering educators with practical estrategias to foster bilingualism, biliteracy, and sociocultural competence. Whether designing equitable systems for newcomer students or leading workshops on TELPAS success, Rosa brings a wealth of knowledge and a heart for collaboration to every project.
